What your donation means to a dancer.

“All I have ever wanted is to dance professionally in a contemporary company in Australia. That dream came to a reality earlier this year thanks to Limitless Dance Company and now I want nothing more than to continue performing in something that I have been training for my entire life.

After returning home from a life at sea, I become lost and unsure of what I wanted to do. I had met some amazing people in Newcastle from Catapult Dance who helped me get back into contemporary dance and made me feel apart of something.
It wasn't until I went to Daniel Jabers 1 on 1 secondment in Adelaide, did I truly know what I wanted. After talking with him and hearing an outsiders opinion that's when I decided to take a leap and within 2 weeks packed up my life and move to Sydney.
This move wasn’t easy as most of my friends were living/working all over the world, I didn't know many people in Sydney and moved in with complete strangers, which I saw as a fresh start. I started taking classes again at DUTI Studios and any open classes around, I found it really difficult to slot back in to it especially feeling so intimidated to go when I didn't know anybody. But I picked myself up and kept trying, 6 months had gone by and nothing happened. Then I had a few residencies with Adam Blanch and Joshua Thompson that also gave me some hope that I was doing something right.
I then saw the Limitless Dance Company audition pop up. Not knowing anything about it I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. I doubted myself, then just on the closing of entries I decided to give it a go.

The audition process was hard, so many people in one room. We had 3 rounds and at this stage I just kept telling myself just relax and have fun, you won't get it but doesn't matter, enjoy the process make it positive.
Then after each cut I had made it through to the final round. I just kept telling myself don't get your hopes up Raegan, just do your best that's all you can do.
We waited about a month before hearing back, when I opened the email, I thought to myself don't worry you'll get another job it will be fine but I had been offered a spot. I was over the moon and I felt so relieved and proud of myself for putting myself out there after struggling in a city where I didn't know anyone on this journey that I had finally made it. I made my dream come true.” Raegan Ashley Williams
